Prime Delux!

Hi All!

I've been doing a lot of posting over on the Prime Delux blog these days. Prime Delux is Plymouth's most awesome skate shop, and it's been thrown to me to get the word out about longboarding in the city. So head on over and have a little looksie.

On a personal note, I'm still skating like a mad thing, I'm about to start teacher training in September - still living and loving in Plymouth, and I have loads of plans on. Plans is plans, now it's time to make 'em happen!

Keep smiling,

Ultraskate V: The Challenge Is On.

It's the holy grail of distance skating. It's pure distance, nothing more, nothing less. It's miles and miles of smooth tarmac passing under your feet as the hands on the clock tick round. 24 hours of pain, tears, smiles and achievement. The event is Ultraskate V, the location is Dorney, and I am about to do tell my body to go further than any girl has ever done. It's a bit much really, isn't it?

With my calf still aching from a 32 mile skate at the weekend, with some inspiring skaters, I have decided to embark on a bit of a mission for the next month. I have until October 10th to bring my body and mind to a state where they are ready to skate a very long distance in 24 hours. On the blog, I will detail my progress until the big day, talking about my learnings in the areas of diet, sport psychology, sleep deprivation and physical endurance.

I will tell you now, I am aiming for 60-70 miles, but what I won't tell you is the total I am going to add onto that. My true vision, well that will be decided on the day. Perhaps a mile for each day to go (clue)?

Think big, plan it, do it.

Check this out!

This is my new project - a website devoted to the fun and freedom of longboarding. Not anything to do with egos, attitudes, sponsors etc etc. These all have their place, don't get me wrong, but I'm just trying to lighten the mood a little bit! Go and have fun, meet Geoffrey the butterfly, look at the pictures, read the stories, play on the jukebox, buy a t-shirt, have a cup of tea (you have to do that bit!)...

Gone Pushing.

Don't worry, I'm still alive! I'm working on a lot of things right now - including some new websites, my own skating stamina, and preparing for uni all over again. It's a busy old time, but it's fun and I'm really enjoying skating far, far, far. I hope you are all well, and trust me, when term kicks in again, I'll be giving it large on the blog front! Viva la soggy British summer!

Would you believe I come to the best city in Canada - the one I've wanted to visit all my life, and my bloody bank card doesn't work ANYWHERE? This is going to be a fun THREE weeks!

A Little Saturday Afternoon Light Entertainment:

For your perusal - the Boardfree documentary promo. I'm not in it, but that's okay, I'm a twist in the plot. I think. Either that or I'm not it it. Meh. Good work Dimitri!
